Des Com final

Design Communications final... Rendered in Photoshop over a 3D CAD model.

Started to rebuild the Iron man figure in Alias. Not much progress yet but its a start. Also scanned in a bumper from a 1990 honda crx.

Lots of work done on the 3d Scanner. Built a nice mechanism to rotate the laser and got some good results.

Been working with the 3D scanner a bit.... got some great results so far.

3D scanner

While building the Alias model I remembered reading about a home made 3D scanner using a Web cam and a laser line. I decided to give it a try so I can Scan my clay model in and compare it to my Alias model. Should have this done by the end of this week...

So far I gave it a test run on this Iron Man Slurpee cup....... The results are pretty good for something found for free on the internet.......... All info for it can be found here http://www.david-laserscanner.com/

Digital Model

While building the car in clay we where assigned the task of building it in Alias as a digital model as well.... A few hours spent on this so far. Just working out secondary surfaces. I should have some updated pics up soon.....

As it sits now

After some sanding a few coats of a urethane surfacing primer.. Some wet sanding tomorrow and its ready for some color...
